Collaboration Agreement Between RWTH and China University of Mining and Technology
The signing of the Collaboration Agreement is another important step for the 30-year partnership between the Province of Jiangsu and the federal state of NRW.
The collaboration between the five engineering schools of CUMT and the RWTH Faculty of Georesources and Materials Engineering is another significant step forward for the 30-year partnership between the Chinese province of Jiangsu and the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The collaboration between the high-profile universities has a focus on joint activities in teaching and research. A major first step is a jointly hosted international symposium focusing on the topics of
- Digitalization / Industry 4.0,
- Design and Conceptualization of Industrial Landscapes, and
- Technology and Knowledge Transfer in Mining.
These topics will be subsequently addressed by two English-language year books to be published by Springer Nature: the “Digitalization/Industry 4.0” and the “Sustainable Smart Mining” year books.
Jiangtsu and NRW are structurally similar – both are former heavy industrial regions facing the challenge of structural change. Thus, the collaboration with Jiangtsu is also of particular interest to companies in North Rhine-Westphalia.
