A Good Academic Start in Engineering

Young students sitting on steps Peter Winandy

Do you want to study engineering but don't know whether studies at the FH Aachen or RWTH Aachen are right for you? Are you torn between electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and mechatronics?

How does the project A Good Academic Start in Engineering work?

Try Semester "0"

In April 2015, RWTH Aachen and FH Aachen premiered "Semester 0": The project "A Good Academic Start in Engineering" was honored by the NRW Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Research in the 2014 funding competition and offers you many advantages. You don't have to choose and can enroll at both universities for the summer semester. You begin directly after the Abitur. After having gained first impressions in the summer term, you then choose what university and what course of study to enroll in in the upcoming winter term.

What is Offered

  • A fundamental program: math, physics, computer science, practical experiences
  • A framework program: realistic idea of the courses of study, peer tutors, study groups, orientation week
  • An elective program with regular offers from the engineering courses of study involved

200 spots are available!
