2012 Award for RWTH Young Architects
On April 9th 2013, the Award of the Foundation of German Architects was granted in Düsseldorf for the 14th time.
Once again this year, one of the three Awards, which are endowed with 4500 EUR each, goes to a graduate of RWTH Aachen University:
- Andreas Klozoris (RWTH Aachen):
"Re:think Mutrah, Muscat, Oman" > published in Annual Report Series A 2011-2: p. 118-122
In addition, the jury expressed a recognition which is endowed with 2.500 EUR.
- Pentti Marttunen (RWTH Aachen):
"Sulkavankoski - Konfirmandencamp"
A total of 60 works were submitted by graduates of architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and urban planning from 13 North Rhine-Westphalian universities. All applicants were rated as ?very talented? and proposed for participation in the award process by their professors.
The jury, chaired by the Düsseldorf architect Christoph Ingenhoven, praised the awarded works and the recognition as examples of socially relevant issues brought to original solutions by deep analysis, expertise and empathy.
From April 10th until May 17th 2013, visitors can see the quality of the awarded works 2012 for themselves in an exhibition at the ?Haus der Architekten? in the Düsseldorf Media Harbour:
