1 scholarship Refurbishment of legacies of North Rhine?Westphalian architects

1 scholarship with free choice of topic

The sponsorship starts on 01.10.2013 for a period of three years.The amount of the scholarship is to cover the living expenses and to cover administrative expenses associated with the PhD and is 20.000 Euros per year.

Prerequisite for the PhD scholarship is an above-average university degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture or Urban Planning.

PhD projects that deal with refurbishment of legacies of North Rhine-Westphalian architects will be promoted. A special interest in the history of architecture as well as the architectural and urbanistic culture of North Rhine-Westphalia is required. Experiences in independant historic research as well as experience of working in archives are preferable.

Another scholarship is awarded without topical limits. In this range of topics, the PhD project can be established in the planning processes of architecture, structural engineering, construction economics, urban planning or related disciplines.

The PhD projects are to be tied with their respective thematic orientation with a university in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The scholarship holders will be supported with scientific publications and a possible exhibition on the topic of the PhD, in order to make the research results accessible to the public.
