RWTH Graduate Wins Helmut-Hentrich-Foundation Award 2013
Stipendiatenhaus auf Hiddensee by Jakob Giese (RWTH Aachen University) awarded
The two award winners Jakob Giese (RWTH Aachen University, examiner: Univ-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Anne-Julchen Bernhardt and Univ-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Uwe Schröder) and Nicolai Schlapps (TU Braunschweig)each receive 5 000 Euros in the form of travel grants for an architectural journey around the world. They are supposed to record their impressions in a sketchbook during the trip.
The foundation which was founded by Professor Dr. Helmut Hentrich in 2001, annualy awards the prize to architecture graduates of national and international universities who showed particular talent and aims to help to gain a better understanding of the globalized world, to convert and develop it in an architectural way.
This year's jury members, Professor Renzo Vallebuona (KIT Karlsruhe), Professor Johann Eisele (TU Darmstadt), Peter Cachola Schmal (German Architecture Museum), Boris Schade-Bünsow ('Bauwelt') and Sandra Greiser (DBZ) saw this special talent in the work of the two awardees.
