Promotion Award of German Steel Construction 2014 - Success for RWTH Graduates

RWTH graduates receive a 3rd prize and commendations for their works

At this year's Promotion Award of German Steel Construction the 3rd prize was awarded to the Master thesis "Docking with Nature - A Cruise Ship Pier for Geiranger" by Liliane Blankenburg, supervised at the Department of Building Construction and Design. Commendations were awarded to the Bachelor thesis "Rowing Club" by Nils Oehler, also supervised at the Department of Building Construction and Design, and to the Master thesis "Searena - Next Generation Stadium" by Jarek Siwiecki, supervised at the Department of Building Systems.

The Promotion Award of German Steel Construction exists since 1974 and is awarded every two years to young academics in the fields of architecture and civil engineering. The prize promotes progressive and innovative ideas and solutions with steel construction in the fields of building and bridge construction, which were developed at universities. Due to the open task, the handed in designs and works cover the complete application range of the building material steel.
