24th Euregional Prize for Architecture
On November 15th the "Euregional Prize for Architecture" was awarded for the 24th time. The "Euregional Prize for Architecture" is the award for the best diploma thesis of five schools of architecture in Aachen (Germany), Maastricht (the Netherlands) as well as Hasselt and Liège (Belgium). This year 28 nominations out of a total of 250 exam projects of the previous academic year, were evaluated by an independent jury presided by the Belgian architect Raf van Hulle. The jury awarded three prizes and three other projects were given an Honorable Mention. Two prizes and an Honorable Mention were awarded to students from the Faculty of Architecture in Aachen:
Second prize: Philipp Maaß, Documenta Archiv Kassel
for "a convincing sculpture providing excellent integration into an urban environment and pragmatic buildability".
Third prize: Michael Dolinski, Prag. Herz & Hirn
For "a storytelling project with poetic qualities, focusing on the question, how objects that keep the history of a city alive, can be collected and presented?.
