A total of four prize winners were selected during the Campus-Masters' annual adjudication on December 12th, 2014. The jurors praised the high quality of the designs that were presented. Three prizes and a special prize were awarded among the final 21 Bachelor, Master and Diploma theses - the four prize-winning works were each based on a completely different task formulation.

Two of the prizes were awarded to graduates of the RWTH Aachen, a great success for the Faculty of Architecture.

2nd Prize: Drahtseilakt by Inga Hausmann, RWTH Aachen
3rd Prize: nyja fangelsi a islandi by Helen Shuyang Chen, RWTH Aachen

The master thesis "Drahtseilakt" by Inga Hausmann stood out because of its appealing presentation and won second place. The jury praised the restraint in her design and the absence of grand gestures. However, they adopted a more critical stance with regard to her decision to mount the cable car mountain station on piles.

The master thesis "nyja fangelsi a islandi" - eine "Gefängnisstadt" nahe Reykjavik ? by Helen Shuyang Chen inspired a discussion regarding the proper spatial arrangements of correctional facilities. The chosen approach of integrating the prison in a natural landscape received a lot of support, however, the architectural language of the individual buildings seemed a little too luxurious and their heterogeneity left some questions unanswered.
