M.Sc. Urban Planning
The Master's program in Urban Planning aims to enable graduates to work as urban planners. This includes preparing urban development plans, implementing activities accompanying the planning process and controlling and steering tasks in the fields of urban development, urban and landscape planning as well as urban design. Here, students gain skills and competencies in designing, planning, and building cities at the technical, civilizational, and social state of the art, wherein the specific profile of our faculty lies in the special proximity to architecture. In addition, they learn to work and think in interdisciplinary terms, enabling them to balance the various requirements posed by planning conditions, functional and spatial aspects, as well as design intentions in their professional roles.
The typical spectrum of possible employers ranges from private planning firms to the real estate industry, associations, institutions, and research institutions, to public administration, in particular building and planning authorities of the municipalities, the states and the federal government.
