3rd Medium-Sized City Congress
19 and 20 October 2023
On Thursday and Friday, 19 and 20 October 2023, the Medium-Sized City Congress will take place for the third time in Aachen. In accordance with the motto "Transformation (mit)machen!", the aim is to bring together various groups of actors and initiate joint learning processes under the umbrella of the transdisciplinary research training group "Mittelstadt als Mitmachstadt - Qualitativer Wandel durch neue Kulturen des Stadtmachens". Concrete practical examples will be used to discuss and theoretically reflect on which strategies and approaches fit the municipal framework conditions and how challenges of transformation can be dealt with. The focus will be on the central fields of action of municipal transformation: climate protection & mobility transition, digitalisation & governance as well as the field of planning & urban development.
