Built and Lived Environment (Growth Area)
In the future, we want to shape our living environment in such a way that it becomes more sustainable, climate-friendly, resource-conserving and, in this sense, capable of survival.
This requires a healthy balance between the environment determined by humans and the environment itself. This is the focus of our new research network Built & Lived Environment (BLE). The multidisciplinary cooperation of architecture and engineering, humanities and social sciences, economics and humanities is urgently needed. Outstanding individual research is to be brought together in the network, and young scientists are to be offered a perspective to meet the most pressing challenges of the "Built & Lived Environment", of which the status quo, that the building sector is still responsible for 40% of global CO2 emissions, is only the most notable.
