Application for Master Studies with Open Admission, Beginning: Summer and Winter Term

 

Requirements

The requirements for the application for the Master Studies   Architecture or   Urban Planning are a university degree, normally a successfully completed Bachelor Degree in Architecture and a six-month internship.

Required application documents

1. Proof of a first recognized university degree according to Section 3 para. 4 General Examination Regulations for all Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at RWTH Aachen University (Version 03.11.2014), valid version of: Bachelor's Degree Certificate, Diploma Certificate, Diploma Supplement.

2. Proof of sufficient previous professional education for admission to the master's program according to Section 3 para. 2 Course-specific Examination Regulations for the Master's Degree in Architecture at RWTH Aachen University (Version 26.04.2016), valid version of: Transcript of Records (with specification of Credit Points, European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)), a module catalog or course descriptions of all the courses you completed in your studies in German or English. If the module catalog has been translated into English, the translation has to be confirmed by your university/college.

3. If applicable, proof of German language skills according to Section 3 para. 7 General Examination Regulations and Section 3 para. 4 Course-specific Examination Regulations

Submission of a portfolio
The portfolio should contain a maximum of 25 pages, DIN A4 or DIN A3 portrait or landscape. The portfolio should convey the subject-specific level of education and knowledge according to Section 3 para. 2 General Examination Regulations and should include drafts, projects, exercises, text contributions if necessary. You have the option to upload the portfolio in RWTHonline during the application process (please note that the maximum file size is 5 MB) or to provide a download link in the application.

Application deadline for online procedures and documents

Application deadline for the Master Studies for winter term is July 15th and for the summer term January 15th.

2. For applicants who are not citizens of an EU country and did not aquire their higher entrance qualification in Germany, the application deadline for the winter semester is March 1st and for the summer semester September 1st.
