Better plan, build and operate with Forum Building the Future!

Rapid changes due to digitalization and networking in all areas of life require new, integrated thinking in the planning, construction and operation of smart industrial, commercial and residential buildings. The Forum Building the Future, an interdisciplinary networked platform for top-class expert knowledge from research and practice, meets the associated challenges.

Forum Building the Future includes the congress Excellent Factories Plan and Build, the 10th Aachen Assembly Conference, the BIMconvention, the Smart Building Convention and the Panel Thinking Urban Factory. The focus will be on networking all relevant disciplines and participants. At lectures, interactive workshops and panel discussions in the plenum, participants can experience interfaces and benefit from interdisciplinary exchange. In breakout sessions, you will have the opportunity to experience various demonstrators and best practices at first hand at the RWTH Aachen Campus and in surrounding companies. Extensive activity breaks offer the opportunity to experience innovative solutions live and to exchange ideas with the companies of the trade exhibition. An evening event in a stylish ambience rounds off the programme.

Thinking Urban Factory

Factories in urban locations can benefit from the opportunity to work resource-efficiently and to enter into exchange relationships with their surrounding neighbourhood. Learn about the potentials and challenges of urban factories in the panel. Discover what resources factories and neighbourhoods have to offer and what resources they need. Develop and discuss measures with our experts to preserve inner-city factory locations.
