Management Plan Speicherstadt and Kontorhaus district with Chile House’

The City of Hamburg, Germany, has nominated "Speicherstadt and the Kontorhaus district with Chile House" as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A major part of this application is the Management Plan which is used as a strategic tool to define the objectives and a conservation policy regarding a sustainable development of the future World Heritage Site.

Above all, the Warehouse district requires special attention since strong transformations of space and use already emerged lately. The site used to be an autonomous tax-free trade harbour, which gradually evolved into a hinge between the old city Centre and the recently developed Harbour City. In line of this event, the Management Plan identifies the areas of Synergy and Conflict, as well as planning priorities. In addition, the UNESCO Chair has also provided other documents for the Nomination process.
