IDEA League Summer School
The Institute for Urban Design hosts the IDEA League Summer School on Climate Change and University Campuses
The RWTH Institute for Urban Design coordinates a summer school with the IDEA League partners on Climate Change and University Campuses.
This summer school aims to provide a vivid platform for continuous communication between IDEA League universities’ students, academics and administrative bodies on how to reduce the impact of university campuses on climate change. It is organised as three-days event (25-27 August) under five parallel thematic workshops on governance, design, circularity, energy and education. The lecturers of the workshops are the sustainability coordinators of the respective universities. Additionally,
two keynote speakers, a senior urban planner from
the UN Habitat Nairobi Headquarters
and a young start-up company from Hong Kong, are
contributing
to the summer school
.
The participants of the summer school are master and PhD students from the IDEA League and
ASPIRE League universities. The students’ educational background includes various study fields such as civil engineering, architecture and built environment, biomedical engineering, energy engineering, automation and control engineering, space engineering, chemical engineering, management, mathematics, computer science, and personal economics, among others.
